Is it just me, or are there less video preview clips of #Wentworth this year? Also, (and this may be a taboo subject) but if I worked in PR or Marketing Dept for WW, I would be lining up promotional interviews with Nicole & Libby...etc. Maybe they don't because there isn't alot of fridget in S5, nor the budget for promos, but since #WW is Foxtel's longing running series and its doing well world wide, I would want to add fuel to that fire! The audience promo show last year was fantastic! Just an observation from a fan that lives in Hollywood đ How about getting the cast to the Paleyfest next year? https://media.paleycenter.org/paleyfest-la-2017-2/

No I don't think they are doing any interviews or promos because they want this all to be a mystery. I really do believe there will be much more of Franky and Bridget. The only trailer that has been released is the one that shows Ferguson led to the yard and Allie having the chain. If I remember right there was only one trailer for last year that showed Bea saying she felt something bad was going to happen along with clips of everyone else including Franky and Bridget. The reason that they aren't pushing much yet, I think, is because of Bea's death. I don't think they want us to know anything except that people will be out for revenge. I don't think they are purposely leaving Fridget out because they aren't in it but rather they don't want fans to see very much of the plot. Let's face it the actual clip they did show won't be in the show. That was just a promo clip of the attitudes that we will see. As it gets closer we might see more but it was like two weeks before the start of the show that the one long trailer last year aired. We are all just getting anxious. Lol
Your probably right but they could still set up promotional interviews even though the cast can't say much. TV shows here do this all the time.... where the "star" in the interview says "you'll just have to watch," during promo appearances. The whole idea is to try and grow your audience and get your fan base excited. Nicole and Roger did a quick 2 minute interview together in OZ a few months ago to announce the 2nd season of DrDr. I just think they could do a better job with global marketing of WW altogether.
Wentworth is a much different show then DoctorDoctor. Hell we didn't even know who was back on Wentworth until just recently. Lol. And I have never seen any of our shows go to the extent that Wentworth producers do to keep it so quiet. In fact the only other time I remember anything here being this quiet was way back in the 70's when Dallas had the "who shot JR" cliff hanger. I also think because of Bea's death they don't want to deal with fans making comments in a live promo show. Too many fans are still pissy about that so I think that in its self is playing a huge part in all of this. I have high hopes of a big Fridget season. Thinking anything else gives me anxiety. Lol
All valid points! Who shot JR? lol.... God... were old! On to the next topic.... đ¤
Hey Ann, I dare say that the Paley people even know about Wentworth's existence thanks to me. I interned there last year and went on and on to them about it. However, if I'm not mistaken, it is very unusual for Paley Fest to have foreign shows (with the exception of Orphan Black and Downton Abbey). Paley doesn't pay the show's travel expenses, etc. so I doubt that Foxtel would have the budget for such a trip (and they don't do regular American promotion tours like Downton Abbey, for example).
I agree 100%. (I'm not in Australia so maybe I miss them)? Where are all the promos and interviews? Wentworth is pretty popular, but imagine if they had a more extensive PR plan?
It's true that mystery can add to intrigue, but that only works as far as there are other pieces that come together to create the whole picture. You still need to grab the audience that hasn't heard of Wentworth. Just some more tidbits to pique potential viewers. They could absolutely do this without giving anything away.
Thanks for bringing this up, it's something I've wondered about too.
Because we aren't in Australia we are missing a lot of promos that have played on tv over there. I'm seeing a lot of lead in's on Instagram that foxtel is posting. We won't see any promos here because until it comes on Netflix we really aren't suppose to be seeing it. We are all streaming it off of sites that might not be legal. Even OITNB doesn't have a lot of promos outside of Netflix. I still think a big part of this years lack of live "an audience with" promos is totally because of being bombarded with questions on why they killed Bea. Fans have gotten quite nasty since last years finale. As it gets closer maybe there will be more we see. Unfortunately here in the United States we have to wait until someone posts an article or clip on Twitter to see what kind of promos are going on over there. Thankfully a lot of the Australian fans help us out by posting those for us. However I agree that I wish there would be more Wentworth season 5 clips.
Denise, I think you totally might be onto something. Last year ended with a lot of resentment from a lot of fans. It might have something to do with their pre-season PR strategy choices.
